PASSERIFORMES: Meliphagidae

Though considered common in south-eastern Australia and abundant in Tasmania I haven't been successful in seeing these birds. Maybe I see the flash of yellow on the wings and disregard them as being New Holland Honeyeaters.

Even this particular photo lay unidentified for 9 months until I just happened upon it when sorting files one day.

Now I look forward to finding and photographing the more boldly marked male.
